Things you may need to know if you are a visiting preacher

If you are a visiting preacher to our circuit, you should ask your contact if you have any specific queries. However, some of the following information may be of use.

Central has a projection system connected to a PC, so that words, images, video can be displayed to the congregation on a large screen. This can be used in your service if you bring a memory stick with the material you require.

The following Hymn Books are available —

Central:             Hymns & Psalms; Songs of Fellowship Volume 1 words and music;

Songs of Fellowship Volume 2 - music copies for choir

Clifton:              Hymns & Psalms; Songs & Hymns of Fellowship; a compiled songbook

St Matthew’s:        Hymns & Psalms; Mission Praise (combined edition); Ancient & Modern (New Standard)

Ebenezer:          Hymns & Psalms; Mission Praise (original edition)

The following Church Copyright Licences have been purchased to allow the use of copyright materials by the preacher during services:

Central          Words, Music, Video

Clifton           Words, Music

Ebenezer        Words

St Matthew's   Words

NB You must check beforehand whether the media you require is covered by the copyright licence, as it is by no means universal. Please ask your contact to confirm your choices.

Singing:

Central has a good-sized choir which practices the Sunday hymns on Friday night. You will be contacted before then for your list of hymns

Clifton has a small choir which relies on copies of music being available if new songs are chosen.

Ebenezer has no choir. An organist is sometimes available to play the computer organ installed. At other times MIDI disks are used to play selections from Hymns & Psalms plus a selection of other songs. A list of these can be obtained from the stewards.

Being heard:

All the churches now employ microphones for use by worship leaders. Further details are available on the Aids to Worship page
